Over recent years their has been much development with new hybrid species and grafted specimens of flowering Australian Native Plants becoming available. Improved forms provide better shaped plants and more colorful displays. Grafted forms allow Many Native Flowering Plants to perform more consistently outside of their original soil or climate conditions. By grafting native plant specimens with good flowering characteristics onto stronger and more tolerant rootstock plants such as Qualup Bells Pimelea Pimelea physodes and Diplolaena angustifolia (pictured right), a native of Western Australia can now be successfully grown in a wider range of climates, including the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne. |
