A fairly large growing and spreading cultivar Grevillea hookeriana ‘Red Hooks’ may in fact be a chance hybrid between G. longifolia and G. tetragonoloba. It does look similar to G.Ivanhoe however the leaf structure differs, rather than the serrated look the foliage is more typically deeply lobbed.

This is a versatile plant, it copes with a range of soil conditions including moist soils and will also grow well in cool climates through to sub-tropical.

- Choose a position with a well drained soil.
- Full sun to part shade.
- The best time to plant is in spring.

- For dense hedges plant at around 2 metres apart.
- Water in well and mulch around the plant.
- Keep moist through the frost summer.
- Once established water during long dry periods in summer.
- In all but very poor soils fertiliser will not be required.
