Acmena smithii var. Minor
Acmena smithii var. Minor

If you are looking for a small size Lilly Pilly for a hedge, then Acmena smithii Minor could be the answer.

This has been a favourite for many years and is sold under a few names. Glossy deep green foliage, new growth a nice bronze and attractive purple berries all add up to a great plant.

This is a native plant, best suited to smaller hedges from 1 metre to 3 metres in height. It can be used for informal hedges, or pruned to a more formal shape and even used for topiary and standards (ball on a stick).

What makes it so easy to prune is the smaller leaves, hence one of the common names Small Leafed Lilly Pilly.

It is fast growing as wells easy to prune so it is excellent for new landscaping projects.

Planting distance

If used as a hedge we suggest planting distance for Acmena smithii var. Minor should be at 100cm apart.
