A fragrant rose with very few thorns Reine des Violettes is an old fashioned Hybrid Perpetual that was bred in France in the 1800s.
The flowers are a pink to purple colour, fragrance is medium, it is a rose that can repeat bloom, although not prolifically.
It is described as a vigorous bush rose as well as a smaller climbing rose and it can reach nearly 2m as a bush rose.
Foliage is a mid to deep grey green, individual blooms are medium size, and the canes are a little lax, so use this one as a climber or prune to create a stronger bush rose.
Regarded as the ‘Queen of the Violet Roses’ and with great colour and fragrance it earns its title.
