Rose Lavender Lassie
Rose Lavender Lassie

A Hybrid Musk rose with great fragrance, Lavender Lassie is a perpetual flowering rose with large semi double pink to lavender flowers. Flowers appear in large trusses and when grown as a climbing rose if is magnificent when in full flower. Grown as a shrub, it makes a good feature in the garden border.

A vigorous grower that will easily reach 2m in height. Released in 1960 by Kordes this is a tough rose requiring little extra care.

A shrub type rose Lavender Lassie is often found on the ‘recommended’ rose list and is readily available for sale. As with many Hybrid Musk roses Lavender Lassie seems to cope with more shade than others.

Landscaping Uses

An excellent rose for the cottage garden border where it can be grown as a shrub, or trained against a wall.

Rose Lavender Lassie Care.

Rose Lavender Lassie is an easy rose to grow in Australian conditions, no special treatment is required. Prune back 1/3 each year and regenerate by removing 1/3 of old canes every few years.

Fertilize regularly with a specialist rose food for best results, although we do know a gentleman who has been growing this rose for many years who uses pelletised poultry manure in late winter, masses of flowers.
