A maple for all seasons, Acer ‘Esk Flamingo’ has it all. Very attractive pink new stems, the older stems are are mid red striped with white. The stem colour give it the common name of ’Snake Bark Maple’, a name that applies to a few other forms as well.
This is a naturally weeping or cascading tree, a bushy habit
Foliage is to pink and cream through summer, turning to orange to yellow in autumn.
The new growth is an attractive pink right through winter adding years round interest to this outstanding specimen tree.
Best grown in a humus rich soil, well drained and mulched. This is specimen tree that will tolerate part shade, the good summer colour gives shaded areas a lift.
