Rhapis Palms and Japanese Rhapis Palms Wholesale. Raphis excelsa. Rhapis palms are a hardy palm that will grow well indoors and is a favourite for indoor landscape work. These are a palm tree that do not have spikes (unarmed) which makes them suitable for public spaces.
The Rhapis Palm will cope well with low light situations with both variegated and green foliage varieties being available.
Rhapis Palms include Rhapis excelsa and Rhapis humilis or ‘Slender Lady Palm’ both are extremely popular as indoor plants. Wide Leaf, Dwarf green and variegated forms of the popular Rhapis Palm have been cultivated in Japan and China for many years and make an interesting addition.
Forms such as Rhapis excelsa ‘koban’ and Rhapis excelsa ‘eizannashiki’ are only just becoming available in Australia.
Like all plants, Raphis palm cost will vary depending on size and variety, plants are available from less than 1m to 3m +
Care
Being cold tolerant Raphis Palms can be grown as fare south as Melbourne outdoors, this makes them valuable for those trying to create a tropical look.
Although they do grow well indoors, a period of time outdoors will benefit them. While outdoors gently hose them to remove accumulated dust.
Do not over water and allow soil to partly dry between watering.
