Originally from China this is a great ornamental bamboo, graceful strong and attractive clumping bamboo. Bambusa textilis ‘Gracilis’ will grow to 6 – 7m, nice arching foliage at the top is a feature. The foliage is dense enough to provide a nice screen with a culm diameter of around 4cm. An nice upright habit and a compact grower allows this to form a dense screen. An excellent choice for those with limited space such as a courtyard or narrow planing area.
An excellent low care bamboo well suited to growing in a pot or containers as a feature plant in a Japanese or Balinese style garden where the tall slender culms and soft fine foliage provide a peaceful backdrop.
