Bambusa textilis ‘Gracilis’ commonly called Gracilis Bamboo, Graceful Bamboo or Slender Weavers Bamboo is a versatile bamboo suitable for colder climates.
It gets the common name of Slender Weavers Bamboo’s from the culms or stalks which are tall, narrow and straight and also pliable so traditionally seen as excellent for weaving baskets etc. And ‘Graceful’ because of the very attractive growth habit.

Description
Originally from China this is a great ornamental bamboo, graceful strong and attractive clumping bamboo.
Bambusa textilis ‘Gracilis’ will grow to 6 – 7m, nice arching foliage at the top is a feature. The foliage is dense enough to provide a nice screen with a culm diameter of around 4cm. An nice upright habit and a compact grower allows this to form a dense screen. An excellent choice for those with limited space such as a courtyard or narrow planing area.
Uses
An excellent low care bamboo well suited to growing in a pot or containers as a feature plant in a Japanese or Balinese style garden where the tall slender culms and soft fine foliage provide a peaceful backdrop.
Gracilis Bamboo can be used as an ornamental plant in a clump or as a screen or hedge for privacy.
