Bambusa guangxiensis – Chinese dwarf bamboo
A low growing plant Bambusa guangxiensis or Chinese dwarf bamboo will reach around 1m (3ft) in height over 2-3 years and eventually around 3m, which makes it useful in a range of landscaping applications. It is a fairly slow growing species.
It is a natural hedging plant, dense with foliage to near ground level. It can be pruned back to around 1.5m if required.
Care
Bambusa guangxiensis grows best in a sunny position and copes well with heat, frosts can be an issue especially with new growth.
