Eucalyptus pauciflora or Snow Gum – Landscaping Uses
Eucalyptus pauciflora or snow gum is a small growing Eucalyptus from alpine regions of Australia. Very smooth white bark and as these trees are able to cope well with cold conditions they are suited to growing in the Northern Hemisphere in cold climates.
New branches appear a glossy red before turing to white or grey. Foliage is a mid green and waxy. The colder the climate the lower growing this tree will be. In warmer coastal areas it will also have a more upright habit than in cold mountain areas.
Finding more use in landscaping as a street tree due to its smaller growing habit than many other Eucalyptus. Also useful a feature tree where the wonderful bark color matches that of many exotics.
Tolerant of both drought and cold wet spells.
