Eremophila Species, Plant Profile and Landscaping Uses
Eremophila are commonly known as ‘Emu Bushes’ and are excellent garden plants in the right conditions. Very attractive to honey eating birds and insects, wonderful flowers and also grown for cut flowers.
Although species do differ in growth habit many will reach around 1 – 1.5m in height. Some such as E.nivea have excellent flowers and look great in the garden.
All require excellent drainage and grow best in a sunny position. Drought tolerant and requiring little in the way of fertiliser many Ememophila species will grow well as container plants.
Wholesale growers usually offer only a few species and cultivars, however specialist growers will offer a wider range.
