With very attractive golden foliage and a natural weeping habit, Cedrus deodara ‘Vinks Golden’ is a smaller growing form, although still a large tree.

At maturity it is elegant, a bushy layered look, and golden green foliage combined with the weeping habit it makes an outstanding feature tree for larger gardens.

Care

This is a tree that requires a cool to temperate climate to perform well. It will grow in light afternoon shade as well as full sun.

  • Dig the soil over well to twice the diameter of the container.
  • Add some well rotted cow manure and aged compost.
  • Plant at the same level the tree was in the container.
  • Water in well with a liquid seaweed fertiliser.
  • Water through the first few summers.
  • Mulch around the tree to maintain a cool root run
