- Carex gaudichaudianna – Wetland species known as the ‘Tufted Sedge. To around 1m in height.
- Carex petrei – More grass like to around 30cm in height
- Carex tereticaulis – Wetland species known as the ‘Rush Sedge’
- Carex fascicularis – Also known as ‘Tassel Sedge’ reaches around 1m in height
- Carex appressa – Tall growing sedge to around 80cm.
- Carex buchananii – Commonly called ‘Brown Grass’
