Buxus microphylla Koreana – ‘Korean Box’
Buxus microphylla Koreana ‘Korean Box’ has lighter green leaves than some others, a slight drooping habit and is suited to wider informal hedges. The natural growth habit is slightly lax, leading to a wider and lower plant than other species.
In landscaping this makes it well suited to a more informal look.
Buxus microphylla Koreana ‘Korean Box’ can still be pruned back to shape, but suits a more rounded soft shape than an upright shape
Excellent in full sun as well as light shade, although regarded as a better plant in shade where the foliage retains a better colour. regarded as drought tolerant and easy to prune.
Plant at a rate of 4 per meter for a good dense hedge. Water well when planting and used a general purpose slow release fertilizer to help promote good growth.
Prune from a young age to maintain a good bushy shape. Plants can be planted closer ar 6 per meter for a more instant effect if required by landscapers on commercial planting schedules.
