Myoporum, Plant Profile and Landscaping Uses
A number of Myoporum species are offered for sale by wholesale nurseries. They are a versatile native plant that will cope with frosts and are drought tolerant once established. Evergreen and flowering form mid winter through to late spring they require little care and maintenance once established. The common name for Myoporum is ‘Boobliana’.
Myoporum Varieties.
- M. viscosum – Commonly called the sticky Boobliana. Height to 1.5m with white flowers.
- M. parvifolium – A species with some named cultivars including M. parvifolium ‘Yareena’. Lower growing to around .3m in height, again with white flowers. Excellent garden plant and used a groundcover in landscaping.
