The ‘rue anemone’
With fantastic foliage and very pretty flowers, Anemonella Thalictroides is long flowering with Double Pink flowers and nice fern like foliage, an excellent woodland plant. Flowers are carried above the foliage. Anemonella Thalictroides prefer a humus rich well drained soil in part shade.
Although they look like a delicate little plant they are actually very tough once established, as long as they have summer shade. The clean white flowers will reach around 3cm across. Flowers appear in spring and by summer the plants will be dormant again.
Flowering in spring these plants grow from small tubers, they will form a tight clump over time and will grow well in containers if the conditions are right.
Anemonella means “small windflower”.
Varieties
