Care and Propagation
Although both the flowers and the foliage look dainty, this is a tough little plant that will grow in poor rocky soils. It will however grow larger and more vigorously in humus rich fertile areas.
After flowering a seed head will appear, when ripe the seeds can be collected for sowing in spring as the weather warms up. You can also sow in autumn, the seeds will find their way into cracks and crevices.
A number of varieties are available including red flowering forms. They can be grown from seed if you can find it.
