Cupaniopsis anarcardiodes is the ‘Tuckeroo’, it is an Australian Native tree and even the name sounds Australian. A small tree to between 5 and 15m depending on soil, species and growing conditions this is a very hardy and useful landscaping tree.
A broad spreading crown makes them a wonderful shade tree. They grow well on the coast, are drought and frost tolerant and cope well with both heat and pollution. A reasonably fast growth rate and a goos natural growth habit make this an appealing tree in many landscaping situations.
Foliage is a glossy green with large leaves, the dense foliage makes this an excellent shade tree. The trunk is smooth and grey. Green to pale yellow flowers in spring are followed by orange berries which hang in large clusters.
