Cryptocarya, Plant Profile and Landscaping Uses
Cryptocarya are ‘Evergreen Laurels’, a group of rainforest trees with many from the coastal ranges of eastern Australia. All species have flowers followed by small black fruit or berries that attract birds to the garden.
Glossy foliage and a fast growing nature make these a useful tree both for landscaping and revegetation projects. Most grow well in warmer climates, sub tropical and further south, however not into the cooler zones.
