WHOLESALE IMPATIENS NURSERIES

Not many plants have endured the long popularity of Impatiens, however with new larger flowering varieties being released by wholesale growers these plants are undergoing a resurgence amongst younger gardeners. Grown fir the ease of care, long flowering nature and good foliage, Impatiens have never really gone out of style with gardeners, landscapers are a different story.

Impatiens are offered in a number of varieties and it is the New Guinea Impatiens with their large vibrant flowers that are leading the way.

Long flowering and with attractive deep green foliage they have a good internode structure and form nice bushy plants. Excellent in a warm position they do make a good plant for patios, sheltered verandahs as well as in the right position in the garden.

Impatiens Varieties

Although many species of Impatiens can be found, only a few are widely offered by wholesale growers.

• Impatiens hawkeri – Promoted as sun tolerant impatiens they grow well in sun and heat.
• Impatiens walleriana – Commonly called ‘Busy Lizzie’ are the ‘old fashioned shade loving types.
• Impatiens sodenii – Tall growing shub like species to around 2m. (seldom offered)
