WHOLESALE ERICA NURSERIES
A very large genus of plants Erica plants are commonly called Heath. A few species such as E. cerinthoides are standouts, brilliant red flowers from winter to spring. However other species and cultivars are slightly easier to grow and more commonly available.
Most have tubular or cylindrical flowers and size ranges from 1m in height to around .5m, catering for different landscaping needs. Commonly called the ‘South African Heaths’.
All are small growing evergreen shrubs and all grow well in full sun to part shade. Good drainage is essential and an acidic soil is preferred.
Wholesalers offer a wide range of cultivars varying in flower colour as well as foliage form. All derived form the species, which in themselves are garden worthy in many respects.
A few stand out species such as E. linnaeoides with its rosy purple flowers, and E. mediterranea, very low growing with deep pink flowers are very popular. A number of named cultivars are also available with flowers ranging from white to pink and deep red.
