Bonsai starters, pots and tools are available from wholesale suppliers. Potted Bonsai Trees are available from some growers already planted in attractive ceramic dishes ready for sale. Thes ecome i a range of sizes from 200mm pots to 400mm pots and occasionally some larger established specimens. The varieties of trees available varies from evergreen coniferous types to deciduous types.
Bonsai starters are seedling trees root pruned from an early age specifically for the Bonsai industry.
Good starters will be around 4 – 6 years old. Tap roots will have been properly pruned and a good fine fibrous root system will have been developed.
Bonsai starters are not trained, they are grown to stage where they are ready to be trained.
