Vancouveria chrysantha is the ‘Golden inside out flower’ also known as the ‘Siskiyou inside out flower’  is another species closely related to Epimedium species and grows well in similar woodland conditions.

A perennial  with attractive green foliage it is native to the west coast of the USA ranging from California through to Oregon.

It is a plant that tends to wander around the garden the green foliage turning to bronze in winter, it thrives beneath deciduous trees in the moist leaf mould.

Vancouveria chrysantha Growing conditions and care

A clump forming perennial with yellow flowers held above the foliage in spring to summer. V. chrysantha spreads by underground rhizomes, however it is easy to control. Fertilise with a liquid seaweed fertilizer in spring.

Vancouveria chrysantha can be divided in early spring if clumps become to large or to help establish a larger colony.
