Anemonopsis macrophylla
From Japan, Anemonopsis macrophylla have tiny slate-blue flowers on long arching stems with ferny foliage below. Grows to a height of around 80cm in ideal conditions although more often less than this. The only species in the genus the plants are self fertile and will set seeds. A very pretty plant, well worth considering.
Anemonopsis are a perfect woodland plant for a shady position, and will flower over the summer period, foliage is an added attraction.
Care
Shade loving in a sheltered position, Anemonopsis macrophylla prefer a cool humus rich moist but well drained soil. Propagation is from seed or by dividing largr clumps early in spring. Little extra care is required. Protect from hot drying winds.
