With over 10 acres of terraced gardens set in Melbourne Dandenong Ranges in Olinda. This is plant collectors garden, a good collection of exotic trees, including many conifers as well as deciduous trees set amongst towering mountain ash trees.
The top of the garden has open lawns, the lower section a maze of pathos with many camellias, rhododendrons and the cool climate plants.
The garden was established in its current form by Harvey and Gillian Ansel in 1959. Plants were sourced from the UK as well as local nurseries such as Boulter’s Nursery and Como Nursery.
This is a garden for all seasons, wonderful spring and summer flowers in autumn a mass of colour from the many deciduous trees.
