WHOLESALE LOROPETALUM CHINENSE
Loropetalum or Chinese Fringe flowers, includes cultivars that are both spring and summer flowering. They also include varieties with different foliage colour and different flower colour.
The species L.chinensis is a medium sized shrub, green foliage and white flowers from spring through summer.
Most cultivars will reach around 2m in height with a spread of 2m. Arching habit and best pruned to shape each year. They will form a multi stemmed shrub and can be used as a low border, a feature foliage plant or in the garden border.
Over time wholesale growers have come to offer a number of varieties distinguished by the foliage colour as well as the flower colour.
Cultivars include :
- Loropetalum chinense ‘Fire Dance’ purple foliage and good pink flowers.
- Loropetalum chinense ‘Plum Delight’, has good plum to purple colored foliage.
- Loropetalum chinense ‘Bicolor’ purple foliage however with white contrasting flowers.
- Loropetalum chinense ‘China Pink’ has foliage that tends to purple, good pink flowers.
- Loropetalum chinense ‘Burgundy’ springs into life with attractive bright pink flowers in late winter. Good deep burgundy foliage , easily pruned and a good plant for light shade or afternoon shade.
