Ixora ‘Prince of Orange’ and other cultivars
Ixora with their waxy flowers that form in tight clusters are a wonderful plant for warmer climates.Evergreen and prefering a moist yet well drained soil they need a frost free position and are best with constant tip pruning to maintain a good bushy shape.
The standout cultivar of the species Ixora ‘Prince of Orange’ is an evergreen shrub best suited sub tropical climates and certainly frost free areas. It will reach around 2m in height and can be used as a low hedging plant.
Requiring warmth and humidity it does have brilliant flowers and can be grown in cooler climates given a position on a warm patio and some extra humidity.
Best in a humus rich moist soil Ixora ‘Prince of Orange’ will flower from spring right through summer into autumn it requires little maintenance. Excellent from Brisbane to the north as a garden plant.
