Bougainvillea, Plant Profile and Landscaping Uses
Heat tolerant Bougainvillea are a flowering climbing plant originally from Brazil. They will bloom from spring through summer with proper care. Wholesale growers offer plants both as potted specimens ready to plants as climbers, as well as some trained as standards.
Bougainvillea can successfully be grown in pots, hanging baskets or in the ground. Bougainvillea require a well drained, but moist soil.
For maximum flowering Bougainvillea require 5 – 7 hours of sunshine each day. Bougainvillea do well with a slow release fertilizer.
Wholesale growers offer a range of flower colours and also new low growing or dwarf varieties suited to growing in containers.
Some growers also offer standardised plants, availability on request.
