This is a hybrid between Rhododendron chrysodoron (pictured) and Rhododendron burmanicum, which has fragrant flowers, both of which also have yellow flowers.
Also believed to be related to R. yungchangense and R. sulfureum.
Care
Best grown in a humus rich well drained soil that retains some moisture through summer.
Mulch with a thick layer of mulch each year to maintain a cool moist root run.
Prune lightly directly after flowering to maintain shape and size.
