Vernonia Plants
Vernonia are a large genus of plants found widely North and South America, Asia and Africa. Useful plants in dry gardens, species such as V. fasciculata.
Tall growing with mid to deep red terminal flowers, this is a very upright species that can reach well over 1m in height, and will withstand a little wind without falling over. It will attract Butterflies and Bees to the garden. It will self seed, however seems to need a very cold winter to do so. Deadhead after flowering to prevent spreading.
