The largest C & S Society in Australia with over 300 members. The Society is affiliated with other similar Societies in Australia and overseas. A Journal is published Quarterly featuring plants, growing, care, propagating and travels to habitats etc. The members meet every 1st Friday of the month at Ryde Public School Hall from 7:30Pm. The Society owns a large collection of C & S books and journals from overseas Society. Exhibition and Competition with plant sales are conducted biannually in spring and autumn. The Cactus and Succulent Society of Australia Inc (CSSA) is the oldest Cactus and Succulent Society in Australia, established in Melbourne in 1927.
The Society ai ms to advance and encourage the cultivation and maintenance of Cacti and Succulents, as well as to secure and circulate all reliable information pertaining the maintenance of such plants.
Monthly meetings and newsletter, field trips, where members have the opportunity to view expert growers’ collections and seek their professional advice.
The CSSA’s Succulents & Cacti Show is an annual Spring event, consisting of a large display area with decorative and rare plants. This is complemented by plant competitions and plant sales offering the unrivalled variety and quality.
