Commonly called simply Pyrus ‘Chanticleer’, Pyrus calleryana ‘Chanticleer’ is one of the most widely planted of all of the ornamental pear trees.
Another fastigate flowering pear is Pyrus calleryana ‘Chanticleer’ is best described as being taller growing than some others and with a narrower crown. Also known as ‘Glenns Form’ this cultivar will reach around 14m in height with a spread of 5m.

Pyrus ‘Chanticleer’ Landscaping Uses
Used widely in landscaping for is upright habit that makes it suitable both for street plantings as well as for use in narrow borders in commercial developments such as shopping centre boundaries and car park perimeters. Its tolerance of urban conditions including pollution and poorer soils is also valued.
This is a tree than does not seem to produce large surface root systems, another advantage in landscaping especially near paved areas and footpaths.
Also useful as a dense, deciduous screen in areas that have the space.
It is a tree that adds interest in spring with the masses of flowers, through summer with good green foliage and into late autumn with excellent colour.
