This wonderful shrub grows well in containers provided a premium quality potting mix is used.
Position containers in a shaded courtyard, on a patio or near an entrance where the fragrance can be enjoyed during winter.
Ensure pots have excellent drainage and avoid allowing plants to sit in water.
Pruning and Maintenance
Very little pruning is required.
Remove spent flowers and lightly trim wayward growth after flowering if needed. Heavy pruning is not recommended as Daphne can be slow to recover from severe cutting back.
A layer of mulch applied each spring will help maintain cool root conditions and conserve moisture.
