If you are looking for a low growing or ‘prostrate’ silver foliage plant then Artemisia caucasica is it. And this is one of the best ground covers for very dry, poor soils.
Often going under the name of ‘Silver Spreader’ it will reach 3-4 cm and spread over .5m.
The silvery green foliage looks good year round, small pale yellow flower in late summer are an added attraction. It copes well with dry conditions and poor soils and can easily be pruned back to shape as required.

This is a tough plant that needs little care, it grows well in full sun, needs water only in long dry spells and is an excellent selection for the rock garden.
