Originally from Madagascar, the Majestic Palm, or Ravenea Rivularis is a relatively large tree growing to approximately 10m in height when grown in the ground Majestic Palm plant (Ravenea rivularis) is well suited to growing in a container where growth will be less and slower.

Best grown in full sun and moist soil it is an excellent choice for a tropical garden. A tough palm but one that will suffer under frosts in cooler climates. Self cleaning (the old fronds drop off)

With a naturally symmetrical growth habit this is a palm tree that looks good given a little space to show off its good looks. Very popular amongst landscapers and great for giving a garden or development a tropical feel.

Care

• Twice yearly applications of fertilizer will ensure good growth, especially in poorer soils.
• Good moisture is also essential, Ravenea Rivularis does not like dry soils.
• Wait until fronds are completely brown before pruning.
