Eucalyptus socialis (Red Mallee)
Eucalyptus socialis is commonly called both the Red Mallee and the Grey Mallee, growing to only 6m with many trunks has white flowers during the flowering period.
These are a very hardy group of trees with lignotubers in the base of the tree that respond to damage by fire, wind or grazing by sending out new basal growth.
Very useful for its ability to grow in poor soils in dry conditions. Very attractive to bees during flowering from spring to summer.
Verybuseful for revegetation projects and also suited a small garden tree.
