Used as a shade tree and a street tree Celtis Australis is a very hardy tree that grows well in tough conditions.
It is also known as the European Nettle Tree and is a fast growing drought tolerant deciduous tree growing to 15m with a dense canopy.
A native to the Mediterranean area over time it will develop an attractive domed crown. Flowers are inconspicuous, however followed by small fruit that is attractive to birds.
A medium sized tree to around 15 meters with a broad spreading crown to 10 metres, it is a very adaptable tree.
The ability to cope with a wide range of soil conditions is a major bonus in urban situations.
Leaves are serrated and the trunk is a uniform grey colour.
