Osmanthus fragrans
Osmanthus fragrans is an evergreen perennial small shrub grown for the foliage as well a the fragrant yellow flowers that cover the plant in spring. Commonly called the ‘Sweet Osmanthus’ wholesale nurseries offer a number of named cultivars suited to a range of landscaping uses.
Glossy green foliage with a slight serration to the edges is attractive year round, and as this is a plant that is easily pruned it is suited for using a low informal hedge as well a background plant in the border.
