Cotoneaster are a hardy group old what is seen as ‘old fashioned’ plants. Evergreen deep green glossy foliage and characteristic red berries after flowering.
They are frost tolerant and very tough, useful plants for tricky situations. Some species set seed easily and are best planted away from rural or forest areas.

- Cotoneaster dammeri is an excellent evergreen ground cover plant also known as Bearberry Cotoneaster. Prostrate habit, deep green leaves, fragrant flowers followed by red berries.
- Cotoneaster horizontalis – Low growing variety.
