Our display of garden trains has evolved over several years.

It started off with a track around a chestnut tree.

Eventually as more "little people" moved in,  an English  village developed.

The buildings cost around $30.00 each. They are made from a lightweight building stone called hebel.

The main stone bridge is also made of hebel set on concrete footings. It cost around $200.00.

Most of the track used in our layout is Australian made brass rail and PVC sleeper bed, very easy to lay.

The roads where made of concrete using quarter minus bluestone screenings in the agregate. Grey cement colouring was used to finish the surface.

To creat an old world effect we made a latex rubber stamp with a cobblestone pattern. This was used to stamp the concrete surface before it set, creating cobblestone streets and  a cobblestone highway that doubles as a mower edging.
