Garden trains are
very popular in overseas gardens. They are easy to run, affordable and
fun.
The garden gauge rail consists of 45mm gauge brass track, set on ultra violet safe PVC sleepers. To enhance the realism the rail can be laid on a bed of fine screenings.
The locomotives run from a 240 volt power control which is set up out of the weather. The power supply from the controller is 18 volts and is quite safe in the garden. The most economical way of delivering the power to the track, from the controller, is by the use of 5 or 7 core trailer wire, (available from our nursery).
Your garden becomes the scenery with natural rocks, alpine plants and miniature bulbs offsetting a rather nostalgic extension to the garden. Certainly a great way to get Dad and the boys into the garden!
We supply German made LGB® locomotives rolling stock and accessories of a very high standard of workmanship. Ready to run Starter Sets range from around $500.00. A Starter set is also available with “sound” for around $795.00 (component value of this set works out around $1450.00)
We also deal in American made models and accessories in both Aristocraft and Bachmann brands.
With careful packaging and insurance the train sets and accessories can be sent to your door by mail or ordered and collected from our nursery by appointment.
From time to time we hold Train display days at our nursery. (See open garden page). These have become very popular and the opportunity exists to see trains running in our outdoor train display.
