Pineapple Lily (Eucomis)
Very rewarding and a very drought hardy bulb. Enjoys full sun to part shade and may be grown in a container.
Flowering in early Feburary, with blooms lasting well over a month.
The seed pods also make  a fantastic display, continuing until the end of April.


Eucomis punctata: Enjoys a dry position. Has over 200 fragrant flowers on a 60cm stem. Mixed shades only.

Eucomis zambesiacum: A dwarf form of Pineapple lily growing to about 20cm. Has pure  white flowers. Very cute.
