Brunfelsia or 'Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow'
Widely used in Queensland gardens with its purple fragrant flowers fading over successive days. This is an evergreen shrub that will reach between 2 and 3 m depending on conditions.Brunfelsia is a useful landscaping plant with a suckering habit. Although best suited to warmer conditions (read Sydney and above) Brunfelsia also do well insheltered sunny positions much further south and are widely used in Melbourne.
Protection from frost is beneficial. Fragrant and with masses of flowers Brunfelsia grow well in a sunny position near a patio or deck where the perfume can be appreciated. |
