Welcome to my website and the 2009 Heritage Apple Tree, Cider Apple Tree and fruit tree catalogue.
I specialize in heritage apple and cider varieties and have currently available over 60 varieties combining the best heritage and modern cultivars. The nursery is located at the western end of Kangaroo Island, in an area of deep loam soils, a reliable 750mm rainfall and a
spring for summer watering. Ideal conditions for the growing of quality fruit trees.
Primarily a mail order nursery, supplying retail and wholesale outlets, and commercial
growers in all states including Tasmania and W.A. also internationally.

Choosing trees from each of the harvest seasons it is
possible to enjoy fresh tree ripened fruit for 7 months of the year. Taste the difference, rediscover the flavours, and enjoy
one of lifes great pleasures by growing these valuable
fruits.
Included is the full range of English and French true
cider varieties, that have good acid and tannin
levels to make top quality cider. |
An Apple a day
I don't grow my trees on dwarf rootstock. WHY?
Dwarfs require more water, fertilizer and better conditions generally than the hardier semi-dwarf rootstocks which are very adaptable to most soil types and conditions. My favoured apple rootstock is MM106, highly suitable for the home gardener and commercial plantings; very precocious, they begin to bear in year 2 and 3, show good drought tolerance once established, are woolly aphid resistant, and bear wonderful crops of delicious fruit over many years. They can be espaliered or grown to make a small tree 2 to 3 metres high. The middle way in the world of apple rootstocks.
