Included are a range of English and French true cider apple varieties, that have good acidity and tannins to make top quality cider.  

BREAKWELLS SEEDLING

2nd early harvest. Flowering early to mid season. Bittersharp. Small - medium fruit. Flushed and striped dark red.

BROWNS APPLE

Mid season harvest. Flowers mid-season. Full sharp vintage. Dark red fruit. Scented and fruity with little astingency. Good grower. Small - medium fruit. Widely planted.

BROWN SNOUT

Mid to late harvest. Late flowering. Medium fruit. Green/yellow and 'eye' russeted. Producing mild to medium bitter/sweet cider, with soft tannin.

BULMERS NORMAN

Mid season harvest. Flowers early to mid season. Bittersweet. Medium large yellow/green fruit. Producing sweet astringent fast fermenting juice and mildly bitter/sweet cider. Crops well.

DABINETT

Mid-late harvest. Flowers mid to late season. Full bittersweet/vintage. Small to medium fruit. Red/yellow and producing soft, full bodied astringency. Small tree, heavy bearer

GOLDEN HARVEY

Late Harvest. Sweet and rich. Popular Victorian dessert and cider apple. (Due to it's high specific gravity of juice; hence 'strong' cider). Small to medium sized. Golden, flushed and russeted.

IMPROVED FOXWHELP

Mid season harvest. Sharp. Flowers mid season. Brilliant red striped medium fruit. Producing cider with strong musky aroma. Used to give strength and flavour to blends.

 

KINGSTON BLACK

Late Harvest. Flowers mid season. Bittersharp/vintage.Dark red fruit, small and flushed. Producing full bodied cider of distinctive flavour. Self fertile.

 

MICHELIN

Late Harvest. Flowers mid to late season. Medium bittersweet.  Small green/yellow fruit. Producing cider of medium bitter sweet character, with soft tannin.

SOMERSET REDSTREAK

Mid season harvest. Flowers mid season. Mild bittersweet. Small medium red striped fruit. Producing medium bitter sweet cider and often blended with sharper varieties. Continuou s cropper. Vigorous grower.

SWEET COPPIN

Late harvest. Flowers mid-season. Pure sweet/vintage. Low acid/low tannin. Devon cider apple. Small yellow flushed fruit. Producing sweet to very mildly bitter/sweet cider of good quality.

YARLINGTON MILL

Mid season harvest. Flowers early to mid season. Medium bittersweet/vintage. (...Found growing out of a wall next to a water wheel, and soon achieving local fame for its high yields). Small to medium fruit, flushed and striped. Producing sweet, slghtly astringent medium bitter/sweet cider of good aroma and flavour. High tannin for weight of flavour.  Small - medium fruit. Possibly the 'doyenne' of the cider apples.
