Astilbe are a plant that requires moisture and protection from the hot sun. However astilbe are well the effort if you have the right spot in the garden. Astilbe prefer a moist humus rich soil in a part shaded position, sometimes known as 'Fasle Goats Beaard' astilbe have feathery foliage and colorful plume like flowers rising above the foliage during early summer. Astilbe will grow to 40cm given the right conditions.
