With so many types of garden shed for sale it is essential to understand garden shed design needs to considered.
A well designed shed is an important addition to any garden and ideas differ greatly as to what makes a good design. Garden sheds provide not only secure storage for valuable equipment but also protection from the elements and a safe place to store chemicals, fertilizers and other gardening essentials. Or maybe for drying garlic (see picture right)
A good shed should be secure, dry and preferably in a shaded position so that it remains cool. Garden sheds may be purpose built, constructed from kits, purchased online of from specialist garden shed suppliers.

It is wise to make a list of what you want in a shed, your storage requirements, access, security and decide if it is purely for storage or do you need space for gardening activities. Will your shed be a feature in the garden, or will it be tucked away, in particular this will determine external design ideas and materials used.

Garden Sheds by their nature tend to get hot, they rarely have insulation. A shaded position will prevent the shed becoming to hot. - A work bench
A work bench either inside or just outside is great for tool maintenance and for use as a potting bench - Animal and vermin proof.
Sometimes difficult to prevent mice, however dogs, cats, birds and possums are a real problem, keep them out of garden sheds.
